Wed, 09 Jul 2014 11:10:51 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RBs BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Rex Burkhead could compete for one roster spot if the team keeps four running backs on the final roster. RBs Giovani Bernard, Jeremy Hill and Cedric Peerman appear to be locks for the roster.

Bengals | Expected to be solid against the run

Mon, 07 Jul 2014 15:45:18 -0700

The Cincinnati Bengals allowed just six rushing touchdowns during the entire 2013 regular season. It was the third lowest total in the NFL. The Bengals also did not allow more than one rushing touchdown in a game, and only once did they allow rushing touchdowns in back-to-back games. The Bengals did allow two rushing touchdowns to the San Diego Chargers in their playoff game, though.

Fantasy Tip: Michael Johnson's departure to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers via free agency is the only subtraction from the Benagls' front seven. However, Geno Atkins is expected to be ready for Week 1, after missing 7 games last season, due to injury. Suffice to say, expect the Bengals to be a difficult matchup for opposing running backs, especially when it comes to their potential to find pay dirt.

Bengals | Dane Sanzenbacher feeling more comfortable

Tue, 01 Jul 2014 12:05:08 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Dane Sanzenbacher recently said he has a higher comfort level now that he's been with the team for more than a season. "The longer you're there, the more of a comfort level you have," Sanzenbacher said. "It's easier to perform well when you're in a place that you like." Sanzenbacher also said he's been training in Arizona in preparation for training camp in late July.

Fantasy Tip: Sanzenbacher will probably be the team's No. 4 receiver behind A.J. Green, Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu. He will likely play in the slot when he does play, but shouldn't be drafted as of now.

Bengals | OC has praise for Andy Dalton, A.J. Green

Mon, 30 Jun 2014 13:44:48 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton and WR A.J. Green are the best quarterback-receiver duo in the league, according to offensive coordinator Hue Jackson. "I think both of these guys are in the prime of their careers," Jackson said. "I wouldn't change the two guys I have for anybody at this point because these guys know how to do it together."

Fantasy Tip: Green is one of the best receivers in the game and is a no-doubt WR1. However, until Dalton shakes off his consistency issues, he remains nothing more than a midrange backup QB.

Mon, 30 Jun 2014 12:19:09 -0700

The team scored 21 touchdowns and one field goal in those situations with three trips ending up with no points. The team threw for 11 touchdowns in those situations and ran for a touchdown 10 times.

Bengals | James Wilder likely a practice squad option

Sun, 29 Jun 2014 17:35:00 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB James Wilder Jr. appears to be a long shot to make the final roster, but the team likely would want him on their practice squad.

Bengals | Adam Jones plans on being a starter

Sat, 28 Jun 2014 17:40:00 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals CB Adam Jones said he has no plans of relinquishing snaps to CB Leon Hall or CB Darqueze Dennard. "I don't plan on giving up my spot at corner," Jones said. "I'm training to be a starter. I would like to return punts too, but I want the corner snaps because I feel like I'm at the point in my career where I'm playing my best football."

Bengals | Want ball-possession offense

Thu, 26 Jun 2014 05:32:43 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals beat writer Geoff Hobson believes Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson wants to have a more ball-possession offense that runs it more but sets up more explosive passes efficiently. That would mean fewer pass plays, but more potential big plays off of play-action.

Fantasy Tip: Giovani Bernard is going to have to prove that he can run the ball effectively 15-20 times in order for the play-action to work. Jeremy Hill will also be a factor in third-and-short situations that could free up A.J. Green and Marvin Jones downfield. Andy Dalton looks to be in optimal fantasy position this year in his contract year as a low-range QB1.

Wed, 25 Jun 2014 22:07:57 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals DE Sam Montgomery was cited in the morning hours of Wednesday, June 25, and ticketed for speeding after being pulled over for allegedly driving 89 mph in a 55 mph zone. He was fined $355 and released on his own recognizance. Montgomery, playing for his third team in 14 months, was released by the Houston Texans last season for allegedly smoking marijuana in his hotel room.

Bengals | Emmanuel Lamur continuing to draw praise

Wed, 25 Jun 2014 15:26:28 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals LB Emmanuel Lamur is penciled in to replace free-agent LB James Harrison on the strong side, and Cincinnati coaches have spent the offseason raving about Lamur's athleticism. Lamur missed all of 2014 with a separated shoulder and is expected to become an integral part of the Bengals' defensive plans.

Fantasy Tip: Perhaps IDP owners have a deep sleeper to consider? You could do worse than taking a flier on the 6-foot-4, 244-pounder, whose playmaking ability jumps off the screen on tape.

Bengals | Mohamed Sanu expected to see time in slot

Sat, 21 Jun 2014 08:31:56 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Mohamed Sanu could receive the bulk of snaps in the slot this upcoming season. Nearly half of Sanu's catches in 2013 came when he was the slot receiver.
