Bengals | Jeremy Hill wants to improve strength

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 16:54:21 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill said he wanted to build up the strength in his legs this offseason in hopes of improving his acceleration into the second level of opposing defenses. Hill said he believes he was tackled by the first defender too often last season.

Fantasy Tip: Hill will be part of a two-man committee at running back this season but should receive more carries that he did last season. He rushed for 1,124 yards and nine touchdowns last season and could be a solid No. 2 running back for owners in 2015.

Bengals | James Wright limited this offseason

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 12:53:04 -0700

Bengals | Marvin Jones is fully recovered

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 18:02:30 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Marvin Jones (ankle, foot) did not play in 2014 due to multiple foot and ankle issues, but he is healthy and was impressive in organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp.

Fantasy Tip: Jones will be trying to earn the starting job opposite A.J. Green, with Mohamed Sanu, Brandon Tate, James Wright and perhaps Denarius Moore trying to overtake him. If he can win a starting job and stay healthy, Jones might be a decent late-round pick as a WR4 or flex fantasy option.

Bengals | Mohamed Sanu in mix to start

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 18:01:46 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Mohamed Sanu is in the mix to start opposite WR A.J. Green, but with WR Marvin Jones (ankle, foot) healthy Sanu will have plenty of competition.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu is a player to monitor during training camp and the preseason. Cincinnati's offense, at least in terms of the wideouts, isn't a wide-open style where the top three or four wide receivers have fantasy appeal. If Sanu were to fall into the third wideout role he would have minimal appeal.

Bengals | Tyler Eifert back in business

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 18:01:06 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (elbow, shoulder) had his 2014 season cut short by a dislocated elbow and shoulder injury, but he is back to 100 percent and was impressive during organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp.

Fantasy Tip: Eifert will be atop the depth chart if he can stay healthy, and he could re-emerge as a useful fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams. Rookies Tyler Kroft and C.J. Uzomah could eventually overtake him down the road, but for now Eifert is the top dog in Cincinnati with Jermaine Gresham having moved on.

Bengals | A.J. McCarron expected to be No. 2

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 18:00:26 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals QB A.J. McCarron is expected to be the primary backup quarterback to QB Andy Dalton.

Fantasy Tip: McCarron could be just an injury away from fantasy appeal, but he isn't worth a roster spot even in fantasy leagues which require two signal callers.

Bengals | Josh Johnson not in Cincy plans

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 17:59:55 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals QB Josh Johnson is not expected to compete with QB A.J. McCarron for the backup job to starting QB Andy Dalton and is viewed as just an extra arm in camp.

Bengals | Vontaze Burfict is a question mark

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 17:57:48 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict (knee) is working his way back from microfracture surgery on his knee and is viewed as a question mark heading into training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Burfict has been a tackling machine for fantasy owners in leagues which use individual defensive players (IDPs). However, monitor his progress in training camp and the preseason closely, as it isn't guaranteed he'll be ready for Week 1.

Bengals | Marvin Jones happy with progress

Mon, 22 Jun 2015 11:25:41 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Marvin Jones (ankle, foot) said he is happy with how he performed during offseason workouts. "I'm rolling. I don't think that's ever going to change. But it feels good just to track those deep balls and go and just - boom! - go. I'm happy and I'm proud of myself for just pushing through this situation," Jones said. Jones showed quick feet and steady hands during the workouts.

Fantasy Tip: Jones has not played in the last two seasons because of injuries, but it appears like he will be ready to play his season. Jones should have a solid role in the team's passing game this season if he is healthy and could be a late-round option in deeper leagues.

Bengals | Tyler Eifert impressing

Mon, 22 Jun 2015 08:27:43 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (elbow, shoulder) was brought along slowly this spring, but he caught virtually everything thrown his way in open practices. Eifert looked sharp running routes.

Fantasy Tip: Eifert might slip into the end of the TE1 discussion, but he'd make an awesome TE2 with some upside. There's a logjam after the first few TEs in the top tiers, and Eifert could be a great value in drafts.

Bengals | A.J. McCarron a future starter?

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 18:25:53 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals QB A.J. McCarron has thrown the ball well and shown great pocket presence during drills, and he has convinced the coaching staff that he is fully capable of becoming an NFL starter, according to NFL Media's Albert Breer.

Bengals | Marvin Jones having good offseason

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 13:28:28 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals WR Marvin Jones (foot, ankle) supposedly looked quicker than he did before missing last season with a broken ankle. Jones was able to get a good amount of repetitions and get his timting back with QB Andy Dalton, according to Coley Harvey of ESPN.com.

Fantasy Tip: Jones was extremely dependent on touchdowns in 2013, when he caught 51 passes for 712 yards and 10 touchdowns. It still remains to be seen if that was a sign of things to come for Jones, or if it was more of an anomaly. He'll probably play behind A.J. Green and Mohamed Sanu at least to start the season. He's a high-risk, high-reward player and should be drafted as a WR5 to be safe.

Bengals | A.J. McCarron likely No. 2 QB

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 13:18:03 -0700

Cincinnati Bengals QB A.J. McCarron has most likely solidified himself as the No. 2 quarterback behind QB Andy Dalton following the release of QB Terrelle Pryor Thursday, June 18. QB Josh Johnson is slated as the No. 3 quarterback.
