Bears | Eddie Royal working with QB

Mon, 22 Jun 2015 11:27:32 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Eddie Royal said he has been working with QB Jay Cutler this offseason in order to build chemistry. Royal said they have been watching extra film and doing extra work on the field. Royal recorded 91 receptions, 980 yards and five touchdowns when they both played for the Denver Broncos in 2008.

Fantasy Tip: Royal had chemistry with Cutler earlier in his career and will try to resume that chemistry with the Bears. Royal probably will not start for the Bears but should have a solid role in the offense. Royal could be a late-round option in point-per-reception leagues and has the potential to have more value.

Bears | Pernell McPhee doing more in Chicago

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 18:02:34 -0700

Chicago Bears LB Pernell McPhee will drop back in coverage and rush the passer this season. He dropped back in coverage just once with the Baltimore Ravens last year. "It's a big difference," McPhee said Thursday, June 18. "I'm usually a pass rusher, and they brought me in to do other things, make the defense real difficult so you don't know who's coming."

Bears | CHI needs group effort at WR

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 16:21:53 -0700

The Chicago Bears will be counting on a group effort from WRs Kevin White, Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson to make up for Brandon Marshall's lost production. WR Alshon Jeffery is expected to fully takeover as the No. 1 receiver in Chicago.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery will enter the 2015 season as a top-5 receiver, while White is almost sure to be over drafted in his rookie season. Royal already has some chemistry with Jay Cutler from his time in Denver, and he should be considered as a sleeper heading into drafts.

Bears | Kevin White should return for TC

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 14:39:31 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Kevin White (undisclosed) should be available for training camp July 30, according to head coach John Fox. White missed all of minicamp with an undisclosed medical issue.

Fantasy Tip: White still isn't considered the No. 2 wide receiver opposite Alshon Jeffery, but he should be able to gain some ground during training camp. We don't know what exactly his medical issue is, but it doesn't sound too serious as Fox also said White is day-to-day. He should be taken as a speculative WR4-WR5.

Bears | Martellus Bennett at minicamp

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 17:41:09 -0700

Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett participated in minicamp practice Tuesday, June 16, after skipping the first three weeks of organized team activities. Bennett told reporters he expects to be at training camp on reporting day in late July.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett is a safe top-five tight end selection, even with the Bears implementing a new offense.

Bears | Jay Cutler confident in new offense

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 14:37:30 -0700

Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler said he's feeling great about the offense under new offensive coordinator Adam Gase. "I know the guys like it. I know the receivers like it," Cutler said. "TE Martellus Bennett is going to love it when he gets involved. We just have to keep heading in the direction we are going and keep studying. We are not where we want to be yet."

Fantasy Tip: No matter how much Cutler talks up the offense, he's still not worthy of QB1 consideration. He's proven to be one of the most unreliable quarterbacks both in real life and in fantasy football. He's a solid backup quarterback for your fantasy squad(s).

Bears | Kevin White not at minicamp

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 11:17:33 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Kevin White (undisclosed) did not practice at minicamp Tuesday, June 16. Head coach John Fox said White is day-to-day, but he did not disclose White's injury.

Fantasy Tip: Whatever the injury or ailment is, the fact that White is merely day-to-day is encouraging, and implies that White should not miss extended time. White is expected to start opposite Alshon Jeffery this season. While there may be some rookie hiccups along the way, he has WR3 upside in his first NFL season.

Bears | Martellus Bennett expected at minicamp

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 12:34:35 -0700

Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett is expected to participate in minicamp this week after skipping organized team activities in previous weeks. Bennett has wanted a new contract.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett may be ready to get down to business, but that doesn't mean he's happy with his current contract now. As long as he plays and is healthy, he's still a top-five tight end candidate for the 2015 season.

Bears | Kevin White working with second-team

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 19:36:34 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Kevin White spent most of his time with the second-team offense during OTAs.

Fantasy Tip: White should have a sizeable roll in the offense when Week 1 rolls around, but it may take some time for his route running to catch up to his athletic ability. Draft him as a WR5, but he should only improve as the year goes on.
