Bears | Anthony Miller fits the offense

Thu, 12 Jul 2018 19:20:12 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Anthony Miller's ability to run routes that "set the angle for the quarterback" made him stand out during the draft process, according to head coach Matt Nagy. "Any time you can see a route that relates to what you do as an offense, you kind of tag that," Nagy said.

Fantasy Tip: Miller is in the mix to open the year as the starting slot receiver. He could be worth a flier as a WR5 in redraft leagues, and he's a must-own rookie in dynasty formats.

Bears | 'Training wheels off' for Mitchell Trubisky

Thu, 12 Jul 2018 16:45:22 -0700

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky has had "the training wheels taken off," according to OG Kyle Long, who added that Trubisky is "going to be able to do some things creatively and get to showcase his skills" as a result.

Fantasy Tip: Part of that reasoning should also have to do with the Bears adding a new head coach who is also an offensive guru, Matt Nagy, and that can certainly open things up for Trubisky and the offense as a whole. The talented young quarterback figures to make a leap in his second year and may even vault up to QB1 value by the end of the campaign.

Bears | Chicago to keep backfield door 'spinning'

Tue, 10 Jul 2018 10:51:03 -0700

Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard is expected to be the team's feature back per comments made by head coach Matt Nagy this spring, but Nagy also made it clear he plans to "keep the door spinning" in the rotation, according to Dan Wiederer of The Chicago Tribune.

Fantasy Tip: Given the expected improvement in the Bears' passing game, Howard's rushing attempts will almost certainly decline from the 276 he had in 2017. This report is just further evidence Tarik Cohen is primed for a substantial role. With that said, Howard is the only "big back" Chicago has and has proven to be a very good runner, so he's going to get the work at the goal line in what should be a much better offense this season. He may come with more volatility than usual, but he's still a solid RB2 option.

Bears | Tarik Cohen poised for big things in 2018?

Tue, 10 Jul 2018 10:43:40 -0700

Chicago Bears RB Tarik Cohen "not only has a skill set that will stimulate head coach Matt Nagy's creativity," but he also "has shown he has the mental capacity to handle a wide array of roles and responsibilities," according to Dan Wiederer of The Chicago Tribune. "He's a run threat and then he can catch the ball in space in broken formations. That's an advantage for the play callers and the play designers to be able to do some different things. We can move him around and try to get an advantage. … He's dynamic. But then he's really smart. I talk about (not) making the same mistakes twice. So far, from what we've seen, he doesn't do that," Nagy said.

Bears | Trey Burton the No. 2 option?

Sun, 08 Jul 2018 19:39:14 -0700

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton could be second in the pecking order behind WR Allen Robinson for targets this year, in the opinion of Bryan Perez of

Fantasy Tip: Burton unproven as a starter, but he has the potential for a big 2018 season. Draft him as a high-end TE2 with upside.

Bears | Allen Robinson should be ready for camp

Sat, 07 Jul 2018 13:31:43 -0700

The Chicago Bears expect WR Allen Robinson (knee) to be a full participant once training camp begins.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is coming off a torn anterior cruciate ligament, so owners will need to keep an eye on his status during the first few days of camp. He should be the main target in the passing game for the Bears and can be a No. 2 fantasy receiver.

Bears | Mitchell Trubisky has more command of team

Thu, 05 Jul 2018 17:21:20 -0700

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky has more command of the team going into his second year, according to RB Jordan Howard. "He asserted himself a lot last year, but I definitely feel like a lot more people are listening to him," Howard said. "He has a lot greater command of the locker room and stuff because he's the quarterback for sure now."

Fantasy Tip: Trubisky started 12 games last season as a rookie and that experience seems to have made him a lot more comfortable than not had he sat most of the campaign as some rookie quarterbacks tend to do. With new head coach Matt Nagy, who is highly regarded as an offensive play-caller, Trubisky could make the leap to QB1 in fantasy circles as soon as the coming year. He's a solid sleeper, at least.

Bears | Trey Burton wants to be a leader

Tue, 03 Jul 2018 01:31:18 -0700

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton sees himself as someone who can be a leader in his first year with the organization. "I take a ton of pride in it," Burton said. "I'm not much of a vocal guy. I'm more of a one-on-one intimate type of communicator. I was a quarterback in high school. I had a great quarterbacks coach who taught me how to be a leader and how all the eyes are on you. Ever since then, I kind of ran with it."

Fantasy Tip: Burton is slotted to play a wide receiver/tight end hybrid role in new head coach Matt Nagy's offense, which is quite significant considering that's the role Nagy deployed star tight end Travis Kelce in when he was Kansas City's offensive coordinator. As a result, Burton deserves serious consideration as someone who has the potential to be a monstrous sleeper at his position.

Bears | Mitchell Trubisky talks new offense

Mon, 02 Jul 2018 10:33:38 -0700

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky said the team plans to spread the field and use all of their offensive weapons under head coach Matt Nagy.

Fantasy Tip: Trubisky is coming off a decent rookie season but should be able to improve on his numbers this season with all of the changes the team made this offseason. He has a chance to be a No. 2 quarterback in deeper fantasy leagues.

Bears | Tarik Cohen moving around

Wed, 27 Jun 2018 13:33:47 -0700

Chicago Bears RB Tarik Cohen said he lined up at multiple positions during offseason workouts in head coach Matt Nagy's offensive scheme.

Fantasy Tip: It appears like Cohen will have a solid role on offense under Nagy. He posted 723 total yards in his rookie season and has a chance to improve on his stats. He can be a flex option in fantasy leagues and will be valuable in point-per-reception leagues.

Bears | Bennie Fowler fighting for roster spot

Thu, 21 Jun 2018 23:03:59 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Bennie Fowler could have a difficult time making the 53-man roster, according to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson. The team has WRs Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and Anthony Miller locked in, and WR Kevin White will get a chance to stick if he stays healthy. That could leave only one spot for the likes of Fowler and fellow veteran WR Marlon Brown.
