"This is a voluntary situation, and every player has to make his own decisions," Emery said. "Gabe has made a decision that he wants to stay in Arizona and train, and we respect that. And he'll be welcomed with open arms when he comes back." The team drafted OT Kyle Long in the first round of this year's draft, and it's assumed that Long will take Carimi's guard spot, leaving Carimi to battle for a starting job. Carimi told the team that he'd be skipping OTAs after their minicamp in April. "Very impressed with Jay," Cavanaugh said. "Very impressed. He's borderline football brilliant. I think he gets it. I think he knows the game. I think he knows offensive schemes. I think he knows defenses." Cavanaugh said the coaches are open to listening to Cutler's ideas about the offense and that Cutler will have a say in the offense. Fantasy Tip: Cutler has performed pretty well since joining the Bears but he does struggle with interceptions at times. It sounds like Cutler will be involved in the offense, which should help his understanding of the system from the start. Owners should consider him as a strong backup quarterback on fantasy teams.
