Chicago Bears news, rumors and injuries

Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler (hamstring) said his injured hamstring isn't 100%, but he is going to push through it. "I feel better, I do," Cutler said Thursday, Oct. 8. "I'm still not exactly where I want to be, but it is what it is, and we have a lot of guys banged up out here. I'll just make do."
Fantasy Tip: Cutler ($6,100, 12.2 of cap) was solid against the Raiders in Week 4 in his return, and while the pass rush of Kansas City could test Cutler's hamstring in Week 5, the Chiefs also rank 28th against the pass. He could be worth taking a chance on at FantasyScore.

CB Alan Ball (groin), OT Tayo Fabuluje (ankle), OT Kyle Long (back, ankle), LB Shea McClellin (elbow), CB Sherrick McManis (hamstring), P Patrick O'Donnell (knee), DT Jeremiah Ratliff (ankle) and DE Will Sutton (elbow) were limited during practice.

Fantasy Tip: Cutler ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) was able to return for the team's Week 4 game and should be fine for Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season and could be a possible starting option for owners.

Fantasy Tip: It appears like Royal ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) will not be able to play in the Week 5 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but owners should continue to monitor the situation. Owners probably should consider other options to use in their lineups.

Fantasy Tip: The Bears have been expecting Jeffery ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) to return this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs, who have allowed the most PPR points per game to receivers this year. It's a great matchup, but with just one game played this year due to injury, he'll likely be avoided my most daily gamers.

Fantasy Tip: Cutler ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) could be a decent value play in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs, especially if Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal are active. Cutler's inconsistency is well documented, though, so roster him at your own risk on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has missed the last two weeks, but the chances of him playing this week look more promising. He has a tasty matchup versus the Kansas City Chiefs, too, so he should be considered on FantasyScore despite not being on the field recently.

Fantasy Tip: Royal ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is coming off his best outing of the year and has a tasty matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs coming up. It would be a shame for him to sit this week. Look for any updates on Royal's status as the week progresses.

Fantasy Tip: Royal was one of just four Bears to catch a pass from Jay Cutler. Royal was busier because of Alshon Jeffery being sidelined. When Jeffery returns, Royal may be less productive, but at least he gave his owners some hope for the rest of the season.

Chicago Bears C Will Montgomery (leg) will miss the remainder of the 2015 season after he suffered a fractured tibia during the team's Week 4 game. He will need to undergo surgery to repair the injury and will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) benefitted from a friendly matchup and the return of Jay Cutler ($6,100, 12.2% of cap), and given Chicago's unproven group of receivers, Bennett should remain a stable option at FantasyScore as long as Cutler is under center.

Fantasy Tip: Forte ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) remains one of the true workhorse backs in the league, and a result, he is one of the safest options to pay up for at FantasyScore.
