Hoover is used to having to fight to keep his job, but he turns 33 this season and his body has taken some abuse over the last 10 seasons. Hoover said he's trying to show Fiammetta the ropes, but noted he isn't showing the rookie everything. Hoover said both players need to approach the situation as if they're fighting for a position.

Stewart, however, should be ready to practice when training camp opens in early August. The injury was apparently related to Stewart overcompensating for a toe injury that slowed him down last offseason. "It just kind of flared up," Stewart said. "I'm pretty much staying off of it to just kind of let it heal."
