Chicago Bears LB Jared Allen was reluctant to move from defensive end to outside linebacker in Chicago's new 3-4 alignment. He claimed ignorance fueled his skepticism after making comments in 2011 about not wanting to move to linebacker while with the Minnesota Vikings. However, Allen believes the move will extend his career by preventing him from taking as many hits. He also likes that it challenges him to study more and not become complacent because of excessive repetition.

Forte turns 30 years old Dec. 10 and could struggle to find a full-time role in 2016 if he is unwilling to take a drastic pay cut from his current $7.05 million salary and $9.2 million cap hit. Forte's receiving skills will endear him to a team, but he may be required to share carries.

Chicago Bears DT Jeremiah Ratliff pleaded guilty to a 2013 charge of driving while intoxicated Thursday, April 30, and was given a year of probation and fined $750. Ratliff must now submit to any field sobriety test requested by an officer during traffic stops. He has already completed a DWI education course, gone through substance-abuse evaluation and completed 20 hours of community service.
