Tim Graham, of ESPN.com, reports Buffalo Bills WR Lee Evans is now the NFL's third-richest wide receiver, behind Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald and Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith, after signing his four-year extension worth $37.25 million Thursday, Oct. 2.

Adam Schefter, of NFL.com, reports the Buffalo Bills have signed WR Lee Evans to a four-year, $37.25 million extension that includes $18.25 million worth of guarantees. Evans will make $27 million over the first three years of the deal. He is now under contract through the 2012 season.

The Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills WR Lee Evans is hopeful that he will receive a long-term deal. Evans said the process is moving in the right direction. Unless he receives a new deal, Evans is expected to opt out of the final year of his contract, which would make him a free agent at the end of the season. The Bills could place the franchise tag on Evans but that is considered a last resort.

Chris Brown, of BuffaloBills.com, reports Buffalo Bills QB Trent Edwards said he plans to visit with WR Lee Evans and throw with him in Florida before the team's training camp. Edwards also plans to throw with TE Robert Royal in Arizona during the offseason. "I don't want July 25th to be the first workout I've had with those guys since last season," said Edwards. "I need to get out with those guys whether it be here, whether it be out where they are. I'm willing to go wherever they go so that's kind of my offseason plan right now."
