The Chicago White Sox finalized their coaching staff by naming Daryl Boston as their first base coach, Bobby Thigpen as their bullpen coach and Harold Baines as an assistant hitting coach.

White Sox | Staff extended

The Chicago Tribune's Joe Cowley reports the Chicago White Sox extended the contracts of hitting coach Greg Walker, pitching coach Don Cooper, bench coach Joey Cora and first base coach Harold Baines through the 2011 season. There are also whispers that general manager Kenny Williams was extended through 2012, when manager Ozzie Guillen's contract runs out, but Williams wouldn't comment.

Former Baltimore Orioles DH Harold Baines was inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame Saturday, Aug. 29, according to The Associated Press.

Rick Gano, of The Associated Press, reports Chicago White Sox first-base coach Harold Baines was unable to attend the game Tuesday, Sept. 30, because of an ulcer. He was replaced by organizational instructor Omer Munoz.

White Sox | Fast fact: Suspended game first in nearly 25 years

Timothy Wolfmeyer, of The Northwest Herald, reports the Chicago White Sox had their first suspended game since May 8, 1984, against the Milwaukee Brewers. That game resumed on May 9 and the White Sox won, 7-6, on Harold Baines' solo home run off Chuck Porter in the 25th inning.

White Sox | Baines to be honored July 20

The Associated Press reports the Chicago White Sox will unveil a life-sized sculpture of former OF, and current coach, Harold Baines July 20 at U.S. Cellular Field. Baines will be the seventh player to be honored in bronze at the ballpark. He was a six-time All-Star with the Sox, hit 221 of his 384 career homers with the team and recorded 981 of his 1,628 RBIs with them.

Updating a previous item, WhiteSox.MLB.com's David Briggs reports Chicago White Sox 1B Paul Konerko moved into second place on the franchise's all-time home run list Sunday, June 25, with his 222nd in a White Sox uniform. He passed Harold Baines, who is now the team's first-base coach.
