"I let my team down. That's my fault." Seattle starters haven't completed five innings in any of the last four games, giving up 27 earned runs in 14 2/3 innings in that span for an ERA of 16.56. Hernandez entered the game with a 2.07 ERA and had given up three earned runs in 28 innings over four September starts.

Hernandez was hit by a one-hop comebacker in his start Saturday, Aug. 16, against the Detroit Tigers.
