Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez (hip) is expected to be fine for his next scheduled start Friday, Aug. 22, against the Boston Red Sox, manager Lloyd McClendon said Monday, Aug. 18. Hernandez was hit by a one-hop comebacker in his start Saturday, Aug. 16, against the Detroit Tigers. He might skip his between-starts bullpen session this weekend, but McClendon said that is not unusual.

Hernandez reached the mark after the second inning against the Toronto Blue Jays Monday, Aug. 11. He gave up just one run in seven innings to extend his major league record streak, making his 16th straight start of at least seven innings while allowing two earned runs or less.
