The New York Mets will select the contracts of P Justin Hampson and OF Fred Lewis from Triple-A Buffalo Tuesday, Sept. 4. They have transferred RP Tim Byrdak (shoulder) and C Rob Johnson (thumb) from the 15-day to 60-day disabled list to clear room on the 40-man roster.

Updating a previous report, the Cleveland Indians reassigned OF Fred Lewis to their minor league camp Wednesday, March 28. The team gave him the option to request to be released. Manager Manny Acta said he isn't sure if the team will be able to use him at Triple-A Columbus. "We gave him the option," Acta said. "But I don't know if we do have room in Triple-A."
