Adam Teicher, of The Kansas City Star, reports the Kansas City Chiefs will retire LB Derrick Thomas' No. 58 jersey and present his Hall of Fame ring to his family at a halftime ceremony at their Dec. 6 game against the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium. Thomas will become the 10th player in team history to have his jersey number retired.

Former NFL WR Cris Carter and former Washington Redskins CB Darrell Green have been named finalists to be considered for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Other finalists include DE Fred Dean, DE Richard Dent, RB Marshall Goldberg, LB Randy Gradishar, OG Russ Grimm, P Ray Guy, OG Bob Kuechenberg, OG Randall McDaniel, WR Art Monk, WR Andre Reed, commissioner Paul Tagliabue, LB Derrick Thomas, CB Emmitt Thomas, LB Andre Tippett and OT Gary Zimmerman. The Board of Selectors will meet Saturday, Feb. 2, to elect the Hall of Fame Class of 2008.

Other finalists include DE Fred Dean, DE Richard Dent, OG Russ Grimm, P Ray Guy, OG Gene Hickerson, OG Bob Kuechenberg, OL Bruce Matthews, WR Art Monk, WR Andre Reed, TE Charlie Sanders, LB Derrick Thomas, RB Thurman Thomas, LB Andre Tippett, CB Roger Wehrli and OT Gary Zimmerman. The Board of Selectors will meet Saturday, Feb. 3, to elect the Hall of Fame Class of 2007.

The Associated Press reports former Dallas Cowboys QB Troy Aikman and former NFL DE Reggie White have been chosen for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Other finalists include RB Thurman Thomas, QB Warren Moon, LB Derrick Thomas, LB Harry Carson, DE L.C. Greenwood, DE Claude Humphrey, OL Russ Grimm, OL Bob Kuechenberg, OL Gary Zimmerman, WR Michael Irvin, WR Art Monk, OT Rayfield Wright and coach/broadcaster John Madden. A 39-member panel will vote on the finalists. Candidates must get 80 percent of the vote to be elected with a minimum of three and a maximum of six getting in. Results of the voting will be announced Feb. 4.

Nick Cafardo, of the Boston Globe, reports New England Patriots PK Adam Vinatieri lost agent Nick Cornrich to a one-year suspension. Cornrich was suspended for violating NFLPA rules after it was revealed he was paid to be an expert witness and testify on behalf of General Motors in a suit filed on behalf of the late Kansas City Chiefs LB Derrick Thomas. Cornrich is not allowed to negotiate with the Patriots and Vinatieri has not picked a new agent yet. Cornrich will be reinstated next August.

Bob Gretz, of KCChiefs.com, reports in LB Derrick Thomas' 11 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, the team had one losing season. In the five seasons since his death, the Chiefs have had one winning season. Thomas is one of 15 finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2005, which will be announced Saturday, Feb. 5.
