CBs Eric Wright, Alphonso Smith and Aaron Berry are in a competition during training camp for the starting position on the right side. Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears CB Nate Vasher got some brief looks at free safety during Week 7, a role he could see a little more time in as the Bears mix-and-match with personnel. Vasher was in on certain passing downs. "We're just trying to find ways to get some of our players that we think can play on the football field,'' head coach Lovie Smith said. ''Nate did have a few reps, we would have liked to even gotten him a few more in passing situations, and we'll probably keep that going.'' Smith, however, added that Vasher could still be needed at cornerback.
