Kansas City Chiefs OT Willie Jones (neck) has announced his retirement from the NFL Tuesday, August 19. Jones was a five-year veteran who played in 18 games during his career. He suffered a neck injury during the pre-season game against the Green Bay Packers earlier this month.

Updating previous reports, the Associated Press reports Kansas City Chiefs OT Willie Jones (neck) remained at Aultman Hospital overnight after sustaining a neck injury in the second quarter of Monday night's preseason game. Chiefs head coach Dick Vermeil said Jones sustained a sprained neck but was beginning to have feeling in his fingers and toes.

Head coach Dick Vermeil said he might remain in the hospital through Saturday, but said there is no significant damage and it's just a severe bruise. “He still tingles a little bit in the upper body,” Vermeil said. “He will be fine. It’s just going to take time.”

CB Ray Crockett is out indefinitely with a broken right hand. "We're going to miss Victor," Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil said. Willie Jones, whose NFL experience had been limited to playing briefly in two games earlier this season, replaced Riley.
