Watson used an armband with a list of defensive play calls so he would know his assignment on each play. "I've only been with the rest of the team for four or five hours," said Watson. "So the armband allows me to jump right in and get a feel for things."

Moore apparently had not recovered from a knee injury that has plagued him for more than a year. The Saints and Dolphins were discussing whether to amend or cancel the deal.

An open bottle of beer was found in the front cup holder after he was pulled over for erratic driving. He was also allegedly combative and failed a field sobriety test, but refused a breathalyzer sample. He was released on $1,000 bond and pending arraignment Dec. 5.

Haslett and Saints defensive coordinator Rick Venturi have concluded that six linebackers deserve playing time with the first unit. Strongside LB Sedrick Hodge, MLB Courtney Watson and weakside LB Colby Bockwoldt, although listed at the top of the team's depth chart at their positions, haven't necessarily distanced themselves from backup LBs James Allen, Ron McKinnon and T.J. Slaughter. "I don't like to platoon anybody, but I think all six linebackers warrant playing time,'' Haslett said. "So, if that's the way it is, that's the way it is.''
