Adam Teicher, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs OG Brian Waters (shoulder) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 20, because of a shoulder injury. He is unlikely to play Sunday, Nov. 23, against the Oakland Raiders. If Waters is unable to go, OG Donald Willis would take his spot. Waters is listed as questionable.

Updating previous reports, Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports Kansas City Chiefs OG Brian Waters (shoulder) will not require surgery on his injured shoulder after an MRI found only a strain and not a separation. Waters is likely OUT for Week 12 and will be replaced in the starting lineup by OG Donald Willis.

The Kansas City Star reports the Kansas City Chiefs weren't much better off following the BYE week on the injury front. DT Nate Hobgood-Chittick (ankle), OL Victor Riley (leg) and OL Donald Willis (calf) didn't practice on Monday. Head coach Dick Vermeil said Willis and Hobgood-Chittick are doubtful for this weekend's game. LB Lew Bush (groin) returned to practice on Monday and is expected to play. Brian Waters would replace Willis at left guard if he cannot play.

The Kansas City Star reports Kansas City Chiefs OL Marcus Spears opened mini-camp as the starting left guard in place of Jeff Blackshear. Spears' main competition will come from Blackshear and Donald Willis. LB Lew Bush opened both practice sessions at strong-side linebacker. The team then moved Mike Maslowski to the middle where he is backing up Marvcus Patton. Larry Atkins, who just moved to linebacker from safety, is backing up Bush. DE Eric Hicks and RB Priest Holmes had the mini-camp's first fight. Coach Dick Vermeil expects undrafted free agent PK Lawrence Tynes to challenge Todd Peterson for the starting PK job.

The Kansas City Star reports Kansas City Chiefs OT John Tait (knee) missed practice on Wednesday but is expected to play this weekend. With both Tait and Marcus Spears (broken forearm) out of practice, the team used a rotation of G Will Shields and T Darnell Alford, a rookie, at left tackle. If Tait can't play, Shields would replace him and Donald Willis would work at right guard. CB James Hasty (knee) and DT Dan Williams (thigh/foot) also missed practice on Wednesday.
