Turner was Kittner's head coach at the University of Illinois. "The offense is what we ran in college," Kittner said. "There are some plays that we didn't have in when I was in college and little things that he switched here and there. But the main core of the offense is still the same. He didn't change protections or anything like that." Kittner will battle for the No. 3 quarterback spot during training camp.

"It would be awesome," Kittner said. Kittner will compete in the NFL Europe World Bowl Saturday, June 11. He has completed 121 of 224 passes for 1,472 yards with nine touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a 67.4 quarterback rating for the Amsterdam Admirals in Europe.

"We're going to wait until the draft," general manager Jerry Angelo said. "If we sign somebody now and then draft somebody, we'd have to cut whoever we sign. However, Belichick added that he will not be sold on Davey until he plays consistent football throughout the preseason exhibition games. "You are going to see a lot of Rohan in the preseason, I'll tell you that right now," said Belichick. "He's getting plenty of snaps in practice, and he's done well with that. He got a lot of playing experience in (NFL) Europe, but this is a little different level than that, and he needs to be able to perform at this level, for the coaches' sake, for his sake, for the confidence of the team's sake."
