NFL.com reports the Arizona Cardinals have released DE Andy Bowers, OT Michael Cook, S Deke Cooper, WR Bryan Gilmore, TE Tevita Ofahengaue, DE Brad Ottis, WR Nathan Poole, FB Paul Shields, TE Jay Tant, RB Clarence Williams and LB Michael Young. They placed PK Cary Blanchard, OT Norberto Davidds-Garrido and LB James Folston on injured reserve.

Cardinals | Thin At Fullback

The Arizona Republic reports Monday marked the first time all three of the Arizona Cardinals' fullbacks were healthy for an entire practice. However, it didn’t last. Dennis McKinley missed Tuesday morning's workout because of a groin injury. Joel Makovicka reinjured his hamstring in Tuesday morning's practice. He is out indefinitely. Paul Shields was the only healthy FB and the team moved Tevita Ofahengaue from fullback to round out the tight end position.

AZSportsPro.com reports Arizona Cardinals WR David Boston (knee), DT Rashod Swinger (back) and FB Paul Shields (ankle) all returned to practice Wednesday afternoon. Noberto Davidds-Garrido was kept out of practice with a sore back.

The Arziona Republic reports Arizona Cardinals FB Joel Makovicka (hamstring), OL Chris Dishman (Achilles') and DE Jared Tomich (calf) missed Tuesday's practices. WR David Boston has tendinitis in his left knee and missed Tuesday's practices. He is listed as day-to-day. SS Tommy Bennett (hamstring), FB Paul Shields (ankle), TE Jay Tant (knee), TE Elliott Carson (ankle) and DT Rashod Swinger (knee) all missed Tuesday's workouts.

The Arizona Republic reports Cardinals WR Rob Moore (knee) and OLB Zack Walz (ankle) were moved from the PUP list to the active roster. FB Paul Shields suffered a sprained ankle during practice yesterday. FB Joel Makovicka (hamstring) was injured in the first practice of camp and has been out since then. TE Terry Hardy (swelling in his knee) and rookie TE Elliott Carson (ankle) missed practice while TE Jay Tant (knee) remains on the PUP list. WR David Boston (sore knee) was held out of both practices. Backup OL Chris Dishman suffered a strained Achilles' tendon during morning practice.

Len Pasquarelli, of SportsLine.com, reports the Arizona Cardinals have signed free agent FB Paul Shields (Colts) to a one-year contract worth $389,000. Shields is expected to compete with Joel Mackovicka for the starting job with the Cardinals.
