Fri, 24 May 2013 20:06:48 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez (hamstring) will likely need at least four or five minor-league rehab games before he is activated from the 15-day disabled list, according to manager Don Mattingly. "I don't think he's quite as close as it may look," Mattingly said Friday, May 24.
Tue, 21 May 2013 12:54:26 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez (hamstring) is doing running drills Tuesday, May 21. Fantasy Tip: It appears as though it may be tough for Ramirez to beat his initial timetable of four weeks. There's a chance that the Dodgers shift Ramirez back to third base when he's ready to return in order to keep Dee Gordon at shortstop.
Wed, 08 May 2013 08:29:16 -0700 Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez (hamstring) will miss four to six weeks with a strained hamstring. Fantasy Tip: Dee Gordon will get an extended opportunity with HanRam out. He's worth owning in all formats if he's still available.
Tue, 07 May 2013 16:30:25 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez's (hamstring) MRI exam Tuesday, May 7, confirmed that he's dealing with a strained hamstring.
Mon, 06 May 2013 11:36:30 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly didn't sound optimistic about the chances of SS Hanley Ramirez (hamstring) returning from the disabled list when he's eligible. "A while ... I hope that puts it in the right category," Mattingly said. "You never really know when a guy's ready or not because you can't ever get to the intensity that you need to get to on the hamstring where you're going to explode and ask for more of your body. It's going to be a while." Ramirez, on the other hand, is hoping for a quick recovery. Fantasy Tip: Gordon started at shortstop both Saturday and Sunday in Ramirez's absence. Justin Sellers is still on roster, and he may get the occasional start at shortstop, but Gordon should now be owned in all leagues because of his speed and the fact that Ramirez could be out for quite a while. Also, the Dodgers are considering moving Ramirez to third base whenever he does return.
Sat, 04 May 2013 17:58:05 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly did not rule out the possibility of SS Dee Gordon keeping the shortstop job and moving SS Hanley Ramirez (hamstring) to third base when he returns.
Sat, 04 May 2013 09:47:24 -0700 The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to place SS Hanley Ramirez (hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list because of a left hamstring injury sustained while running the bases Friday, May 3. In a corresponding move, SS Dee Gordon will be called up from Triple-A Albuquerque. Fantasy Tip: It is uncertain at this time if Gordon or INF Justin Sellers will get the bulk of the playing time at shortstop, but Gordon appears to be the better bet and is the more attractive fantasy pickup for his speed. In 25 games for Albuquerque this year, Gordon hit .314 with 12 RBIs and 14 steals. Sellers might remain a factor for NL-only leaguers.
Tue, 30 Apr 2013 11:32:05 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez (thumb) will play with a small, flexible splint on his right hand that will allow him to hit and make throws. However, he indicated that he is not 100 percent healthy. "It's not 100 percent, but I can defend myself on the field," Ramirez said before the game. "I just want to be in there. I don't want to wait any longer. I'm a gamer. I just want to be in there and I think I can play." Fantasy Tip: The big fear here for Ramirez's owners is that he'll reinjure his thumb if it's not 100 percent. However, the Dodgers must think he's healthy enough to activate him from the DL, so you should return him to your lineup immediately.
Mon, 29 Apr 2013 18:17:29 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez (thumb) was activated from the disabled list Thursday, April 29.
Mon, 29 Apr 2013 16:13:03 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez (thumb) said he feels ready to return from the disabled list. Fantasy Tip: There is a very good chance Ramirez will make his season debut this week, but it would be smart to err on the side of caution and keep him benched in weekly leagues.
