Royals | Joe Blanton picks up save

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 17:48:38 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Joe Blanton pitched a perfect ninth inning against the Chicago White Sunday, July 19, to record his first save of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Kansas City played a double-header Friday and used seven relievers Saturday, so Blanton ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) was pressed into action. Don't expect him to receive another save chance without similar circumstances.

Royals | Joe Blanton has bottom drop out

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 22:22:10 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Joe Blanton allowed five runs and five hits with four walks over 2 2/3 innings in a loss Monday, June 29, against the Houston Astros. He had not walked any batters over his first two starts this season, entering with a 2-0 record and 1.73 ERA since his recall from Class AAA Omaha.

Fantasy Tip: Blanton ($3,700; or 7.4% of cap) finally showed why he is such a risky play in FantasyScore despite the good results in his first two outings. There is a reason he was out of baseball in 2014, and Houston showed why.

Royals | Joe Blanton shines once again

Mon, 22 Jun 2015 23:42:35 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Joe Blanton won his second game in as many decisions and dropped his ERA to 1.73 when the Royals won 4-1 over the Seattle Mariners.

Fantasy Tip: Blanton ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) seemingly came out of nowhere after temporarily stepping aside from the game last year. The question is can Blanton keep this up. He has a solid Royals offense backing him up, but Blanton could fade down the stretch. Be careful.

Royals | Joe Blanton starting Wednesday

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 15:10:56 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Joe Blanton is starting against the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday, June 17.

Fantasy Tip: Blanton last started July 22, 2013, and therefore, he has no place in your fantasy lineup, regardless of format. FantasyScore players, especially, need to aim higher.
