Tennessee Titans impending free-agent DL Dave Ball said he may have to have to retire because he does not think he will receive any interest from other teams after missing most of the last two seasons because of concussions.

The Tennessee Titans are still trying to decide on what to do with DE Dave Ball (concussion). He has not practiced or played since early August due to a concussion, and he is very unlikely to play in the preseason finale Thursday, Aug. 30, against the New Orleans Saints. The team might waive him with an injury settlement; put him on Injured Reserve; or hold a place for him on the roster in hopes that he re-gains his health soon.

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak has told DE Dave Ball the team would like to cut down on his snaps this season because they believe Ball would be more effective with less snaps. Ball played around 50 snaps per game in 2011 but Munchak would like to cut that down to 30 to 35 snaps per game.
