The New York Daily News reports New York Jets reserve OT Marko Cavka (arm) underwent surgery Friday, Sept. 2, to insert a metal plate in his fractured left forearm. His injury wasn't a fractured wrist, as first reported by the team. He will miss eight to 10 weeks.

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Jets have not yet contacted agent Ken Staninger about free agent OT Scott Gragg (49ers). The Jets had some interest in Gragg before the start of training camp and are aware he's available. The team needs some depth at offensive tackle due to the possible season ending injury to OT Marko Cavka (wrist).

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Jets have not yet decided what to do with OT Marko Cavka (broken wrist). "Right now we don't know what we're going to do with Marko - carry him on the 53 or put him on IR. That's another tough decision to make," head coach Herman Edwards said. "We have to shore up that position. We're a little weak there with the injuries."
