USAToday.com reports the Long Island Ducks, of the Atlantic League, signed OF Nook Logan to an undisclosed deal.

Tony Jackson, of the Los Angeles Daily News, reports the Los Angeles Dodgers have signed free-agent OF Nook Logan (Nationals) to a minor league contract. The deal did not include an invitation to the major league camp for spring training.

Correcting an earlier item, Buster Olney, of ESPN The Magazine, reports free-agent OF Nook Logan (Nationals) may face scrutiny from Major League Baseball, as he may have violated baseball's drug-testing agreement after the 2003 season, as outlined in the Mitchell Report.

Free-agent OF Nook Logan (Nationals) has been named in the Mitchell Report. Former New York Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski admitted to selling Logan one shipment of human growth hormone in December 2005.

Bill Ladson, of Nationals.MLB.com, reports Washington Nationals manager Manny Acta has yet to decide who will be dropped from the 25-man roster when OF Alex Escobar (shoulder) returns from the disabled list. Acta is deciding whether to keep OF Nook Logan or OF Ryan Langerhans. Acta has also not ruled out sending down an infielder when Escobar returns.

Bill Ladson, of Washington.Nationals.MLB.com, reports the Washington Nationals will continue to use a platoon in center field with OF Ryan Langerhans getting the start against right-handers and OF Nook Logan being used against lefties. However, Logan will see more time against righties as manager Manny Acta feels Logan will get too rusty sitting on the bench for long stretches if just facing lefties.
