Andrew Mason, of DenverBroncos.com, reports Denver Broncos CB Reggie Stephens abruptly left the team's practice facility Wednesday, Aug. 11. "He left. He took off on us," head coach Mike Shanahan said. "I was going to say that he escaped in the middle of the night, but he was here this morning for meetings. He's one of the few guys that escaped during the day."

With New York Giants CB Kato Serwanga (hip) out of practice Thursday, Dec. 18, the Giants' four cornerbacks for the Sunday, Dec. 21, game against the Dallas Cowboys could be rookie CB Frank Walker, Ike Charlton, Ray Green and Reggie Stephens. Walker did not play the first six games of the season, Charlton was signed on Nov. 11, Green was signed Tuesday, Dec. 16, and Stephens was just added to the roster.

According to the Associated Press, the New York Giants held their last full practice earlier today in preparation for Sunday's Super Bowl. Former QB Jeff Hostetler stopped by and threw passes to the receivers and running backs while the team was loosening up for the two-hour workout at the Buccaneers training complex. Everyone practiced for the Giants and all their injured, with the exception of CB Reggie Stephens (Inactive), should be good to go on Sunday. The team will have a 45-minute walk-through practice on Saturday.

The Associated Press reports New York Giants backup CB Reggie Stephens, who has been fighting a foot injury all week, has been declared inactive for the Super Bowl. LB Kevin Lewis, OT Chris Bober and DE Jeramiah Parker join him on the inactive list. All three have been inactive for all the Giants playoff games.

FB Greg Comella (buttocks) and WR Amani Toomer (ankle) practiced without complications. The Giants will not have a guest speaker for the Super Bowl like they did with Lawrence Taylor before the NFC Championship game. Coach Jim Fassel said Joe Montgomery might be active as a third running back.

Associated Press reports New York Giants OL Luke Petitgout had to leave practice early today after suffering an ankle injury when a teammate fell on his left ankle. He had his ankle wrapped with ice and taped and was able to return for the latter portion of practice. He's expected to play this weekend. S Shaun Williams (hamstring) and CB Reggie Stephens (foot) were both limited in practice while FB Greg Comella (buttocks) and WR Amani Toomer (ankle) went through full action.

Neil Best reports for the Sporting News some of the banged up New York Giants are taking it easy in practice, but all should be ready for the Super Bowl on January 28. WR Amani Toomer (ankle), CB Reggie Stephens (sore foot) and FB Greg Comella (sore backside) all sat out practice. Coach Jim Fassel is putting in his game plan this week and next week the team will work on specific situations like goal-line and short yardage.

The Associated Press reports New York Giants WR Amani Toomer (ankle) and CB Reggie Stephens (ankle) missed practice on Wednesday. In a surprise move, CB Jason Sehorn saw some reps as the team's punt returner. Coach Jim Fassel was giving himself insurance in case Toomer can return punts on Sunday. The leading candidate to return punts remains, as reported earlier, is WR Ike Hilliard.

According to their official site, the New York Giants held their final practice for this week today. Several players missed the teamís workout today. RB Tiki Barber (forearm/foot), WR Ike Hilliard (foot), WR Joe Jurevicius (knee) and CB Reggie Stephens (ankle) were held out, but all are expected to return next week.
