Johnson (ankle), who missed the entire 2004 season with an ankle injury, has some catching up to do, but he has seen flashes of talent from the young receiver. "It will take him a little bit to get back into it but he has shown some real promise in our quarterback school and I like what I see," Watson said. "Hopefully he'll continue to get better because he's gotten incrementally better and better each time he's gone out on the field."

Johnson (tibia) has finally begun to practice with the team after sitting out the Broncos' May minicamp due to a broken leg he suffered during his senior season at the University of Texas, reports Andrew Mason of DenverBroncos.com. The injury likely cost Johnson a shot a being drafted, but now the wide receiver beliefs he can compete for a spot on the team's roster. "I'm just now trying to get back in the groove of things, get back into football mode," Johnson said. "But I'm having a lot of fun. I know I can play this game and I know I can play at a high level. I played at a high level for four years at Texas, and I plan to keep doing that."
