Bengals | Krenzel might file grievance

Mon, 15 May 2006 22:23:50 -0700

Chick Ludwig, of the Dayton Daily News, reports free agent QB Craig Krenzel (Bengals) has 25 days to file an injury grievance with the NFLPA against the Cincinnati Bengals. NC Sports, which represents Krenzel, said the quarterback sustained an arm injury during the team's offseason workout program. The injury will require surgery and according to the NFLPA, players who are injured while performing services for their club are entitled to receive their salary for as long as they remain physically unable to play during the season, as well as receive treatment, rehabilitation and medical care. In addition, the NFLPA states that players who are released while still injured and unable to play because of the injury "must file an injury grievance within 25 days" after their release "to enforce your rights under your player contract." Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said the team would have no further comment on the situation.
