San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers said he would have no issue if free-agent RB LaDainian Tomlinson (Jets) were to return to the team as a third-down back. "I love LT and all that he brought and meant to us when he was here. I don't know if that is being considered or that's even an option, but I wouldn't have any objection to it whatsoever," Rivers said. The Chargers, however, are unlikely to bring Tomlinson back.

Rivers said creating chemistry and timing with the receivers on the field is something they can work on during offseason workouts.

"I have to admit, and maybe people think I'm crazy, but I really hope it's Denver," Rivers said. "It would immediately make it that much tougher to win the West. Gosh, to play him twice a year, the AFC West would become a division that's not lost in the shuffle. I'm kind of hoping that's the case. It's always fun to play a Peyton-led football team."

"Because the difference in an 8-8 or a 9-7 team to that 11-5, 12-4 team is not a whole lot."
