San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers said he would have no issue if free-agent RB LaDainian Tomlinson (Jets) were to return to the team as a third-down back. "I love LT and all that he brought and meant to us when he was here. I don't know if that is being considered or that's even an option, but I wouldn't have any objection to it whatsoever," Rivers said. The Chargers, however, are unlikely to bring Tomlinson back.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers said he has been working on building a rapport with WRs Robert Meachem, Eddie Royal, Micheal Spurlock and Roscoe Parrish because it will be easier to him to communicate with them and understand their tendencies. Rivers said creating chemistry and timing with the receivers on the field is something they can work on during offseason workouts.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers said he will be looking to improve his ball security in 2012. "That was obviously the thing that stood out last year," Rivers said of the turnovers. "It's one thing if we couldn't get a first down or convert third downs or couldn't run the ball or couldn't have any big plays. We had all of those." Rivers threw 20 interceptions last season.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers said he would welcome the competition in the AFC West if free-agent QB Peyton Manning (Colts) joined the Denver Broncos. "I have to admit, and maybe people think I'm crazy, but I really hope it's Denver," Rivers said. "It would immediately make it that much tougher to win the West. Gosh, to play him twice a year, the AFC West would become a division that's not lost in the shuffle. I'm kind of hoping that's the case. It's always fun to play a Peyton-led football team."

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers completed 11 of 19 passes for 190 yards, two touchdowns and an interception at the Pro Bowl Sunday, Jan. 29. One of his TD strikes went to Chargers teammate TE Antonio Gates in the second quarter. Rivers also hooked up with Miami Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall on a 29-yard strike in the second quarter.

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers said the team needs to cut down on the mistakes and play a little better but are not far off from a trip to the playoffs again. "A lot of times, you look at 8-8 or 9-7 and you get too caught up in what's wrong instead of, 'Let's just play a little better and fine-tune some things,' " Rivers said. "Because the difference in an 8-8 or a 9-7 team to that 11-5, 12-4 team is not a whole lot."

I don't know that unless you're living it day to day, you can appreciate what these guys have been through, what this team has been through from a physical standpoint. They're responded and I do believe this team can go do some great things. We need to get better in some areas." QB Philip Rivers, C Nick Hardwick and OG Kris Dielman are among players who are supporting Turner.
