Bills | More On the NFL Draft

Wed, 11 Apr 2001 00:50:33 -0700

The Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills president and GM Tom Donahoe said on Tuesday the team may be interested in obtaining more draft picks. "We'd like to get some more picks if we could," said Donahoe. "Obviously, we're a football team that is concerned about our depth." Donahoe doesn't think the team will try to move up in the draft, but he didn't rule out moving down in order to gain an extra pick or two. Right now, the defensive line is the biggest need after losing DE Marcellus Wiley and starting NT Ted Washington. Buffalo is also switching to a 4-3 defense, meaning they're going to need an extra lineman. Coach Gregg Williams would also like to add a big, speedy cornerback. The Bills are also in need of a kicker and punter after failing to re-sign Steve Christie and cutting P Chris Mohr, who later signed with Atlanta.
