Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger feeling his age

Wed, 04 Jul 2018 17:13:12 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger said he is walking a "fine line" between resting his body and working out to prepare for the upcoming season. "My trainer will get me as prepared as I can be," Roethlisberger said. "But it is a fine line of what you can do at this age."

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger is still delivering despite his age, and last year, he reached 28 touchdown passes for the fourth time in the last five seasons. With plenty of weapons around him, another season of QB1 production should be on tap.

Sun, 17 Jun 2018 17:07:24 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger won't pursue an extension on his contract, which expires in two years, over the summer months. Roethlisberger said he prefers to just play football and let his representation worry about the money.

Fantasy Tip: With no distractions over money, Roethlisberger should be a decent mid-round selection in most fantasy drafts, either as a low QB1 or high QB2. The question is can he stay healthy.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger back with team

Wed, 06 Jun 2018 19:37:12 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger participated in organized team activities Wednesday, June 6. He said he missed the last several workouts because of a pre-planned vacation.

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger will have a majority of his weapons back for this season and should be able to post similar numbers as he did in 2017 as long as he can stay healthy. He can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in most leagues.

Steelers | Key Steelers absences explained

Thu, 31 May 2018 10:30:21 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown has not been attending organized team activities due to the absence of QB Ben Roethlisberger. Brown prefers to work with his starting quarterback and Roethlisberger has been on a family vacation, according to C Maurkice Pouncey.

Fantasy Tip: There is nothing to panic about here, at least not yet. Brown and Big Ben will return and do their due diligence. Brown is a perennial No. 1 WR candidate and Roethlisberger demands QB1 recognition in what is one of the most prolific NFL offenses year after year.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger upset with pick?

Fri, 04 May 2018 19:10:47 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger said he was "surprised" that QB Mason Rudolph was drafted in the third round instead of a player "that can help this team now."

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger recently said he could play as many as five more years, but it's hard to blame Pittsburgh for thinking about the future since it wasn't all that long ago that he was hinting at retirement. Roethlisberger should remain a QB1 in 2018 while Rudolph will only have value as a dynasty stash.

Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger to play 3-5 more years?

Wed, 02 May 2018 19:45:05 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger said he plans to play another three to five more years if he can stay healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger is still a productive quarterback despite his age and will have most of his weapons back in 2018. Owners in most fantasy leagues should considered him a solid No. 1 quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: Roethlisberger had a very productive 2017 season and will have most of his pass catchers back next season. He can be a solid No. 1 fantasy quarterback in most fantasy leagues in 2018.

Steelers | Glaring splits for Ben Roethlisberger

Wed, 21 Feb 2018 13:23:57 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger's touchdown to interception ratio on passes of at least 20 yards in home games last season was 8:1. The ratio for such passes in road contests plummeted to 1:3. His passer rating on such passes at home was 117.1 compared to 47.6 on the road.

Fantasy Tip: There is credence to home-field advantage and the impact it has on the human psyche, and vice versa in hostile environments on the road. Game scripts obviously play a big role in the frequency and length of passes, too. Roethlisberger is a borderline No. 1 fantasy quarterback, but keep in mind that Big Ben, and players in general, may have a harder time finding success on the road.
