The Pittsburgh Steelers and QB Ben Roethlisberger will likely approach a contract extension this offseason with Roethlisberger having two years left on his current contract. Roethlisberger could ask for more than $20 million a year in a new deal. "They could always structure the deal so Roethlisberger wouldn't count as much against the cap next year as he would if they didn't sign him to a new deal," the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac pointed out. "But, based on the Joe Flacco deal, the price of paying a quarterback, especially one with two Super Bowls victories, has gone way up. At a minimum, Roethlisberger is going to want $75 million over three years. And do the Steelers want to pay that?"

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is refuting reports that suggested he might seek a trade after the 2013 season. "It's ridiculous," Roethlisberger said after Sunday's 23-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills. "This is where I've always wanted to be. I don't want to play for anyone else." President Art Rooney II also issued a statement saying the previous report was "erroneous," and he has no intentions of trying to trade Roethlisberger.

Pittsburgh Steelers CB Curtis Brown (non-injury), OG David DeCastro (ankle), DT Steve McClendon (illness) and WR Markus Wheaton (finger) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 30. OG Ramon Foster (concussion), TE Heath Miller (non-injury) and QB Ben Roethlisberger (non-injury) were limited. LB Lawrence Timmons (hand) and OT Guy Whimper (knee) practiced in full.
Fantasy Tip: Both Big Ben and Miller were being rested Wednesday and should be fully ready to suit up in Week 9 against the New England Patriots. Both are rather weak plays, however, unless you're in need of bye week or injury replacements at their respective positions.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger recently had a talk with WR Antonio Brown about his complaints on the sideline. He said on a local radio show that he told Brown if he's going to complain on the sideline, he needs to make the big plays when they are there for him. Head coach Mike Tomlin also mentioned Brown's mishaps in his Week 8 post-game press conference. "We came away from that drive with no points because of an interception on third down that went through Antonio Brown's hands and was picked off by their cornerback," Tomlin said.
