Updating a previous report, The Associated Press reports the San Francisco Giants hired former MLB 1B Will Clark Wednesday, Jan. 28, as a special assistant. He will represent the team at both in-season and offseason community events while also attending Spring Training to work with players in the big league and minor league camps.

The Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro reports three former Major League Baseball players, including two ex-Arizona Diamondbacks, will serve as Diamondback instructors during the team's spring camp. Former Diamondbacks IF and bench coach Jay Bell and former 3B Matt Williams also will be in camp as special instructors, as will former San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals 1B Will Clark.

The Associated Press reports former MLB 1B Will Clark was at the Diamondbacks' game Monday, Sept. 27, at the request of his former agent Jeff Moorad, who is the new Diamondbacks' chairman. Clark was there to take a look at the team.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Dan O'Neill reports former MLB 1B Will Clark, who will return to St. Louis to help teach at spring training, credits the fans for his continued ties with the team. "As far as I'm concerned, [when I joined the Cardinals in July 2000] that was as much fun as I've ever had playing baseball," said Clark. "And I owe it all to the organization and especially the fans. The fans made it fun."
