The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the Minnesota Twins would like former OF Tony Oliva, who played for the team in the 1960s and 1970s, to return as an on-field hitting consultant.

The Associated Press reports the Minnesota Twins signed Hall of Famer Rod Carew to an executive staff position. Carew will assist in several facets of the front office, including corporate partnerships, marketing, community affairs and broadcasting. Minnesota already has former greats Harmon Killebrew, Tony Oliva and Kent Hrbek working for the club in similar capacities.
