Former Minnesota Twins OF Harmon Killebrew visited Twins camp Thursday, March 17, and The Associated Press reports Killebrew is feeling great despite his bout with esophageal cancer. "I think it's going to help me a lot. In fact, the doctors encouraged me to come," Killebrew said. "For me to focus on something else, I think will be a good thing. I lost a lot of weight, but I have gained a lot back. It's just a thing you have to go through."

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame OF Harmon Killebrew will not attend the Twins' winter caravan or TwinsFest this week after undergoing surgery Wednesday, Jan. 27, in Idaho during which his gallbladder was removed. Killebrew, 73, who was born in Payette, Idaho, is expected to be released from the hospital Thursday, Jan. 28. He was hospitalized earlier in the week.

The Associated Press reports the Minnesota Twins signed Hall of Famer Rod Carew to an executive staff position. Carew will assist in several facets of the front office, including corporate partnerships, marketing, community affairs and broadcasting. Minnesota already has former greats Harmon Killebrew, Tony Oliva and Kent Hrbek working for the club in similar capacities.
