Thu, 19 Jan 2012 08:07:50 -0800 Former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley is unlikely to return to the Arizona Cardinals' coaching staff. Talks between Haley and the Cardinals have been amicable; however, coming to agreement on a position that meets the Cardinals' needs and matches Haley's career goals has been elusive. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt doesn't want to make a major shakeup on his offensive staff. The only open position is the quarterbacks coach job, and Haley may not be open to such a role after serving as both an offensive coordinator and head coach in the past.

That's one thing I know for sure about Jay."

"Larry is obviously not making the decisions," Whisenhunt said. "There's a lot of things that guys want that they don't necessarily get. That's why I have individual meetings with them to get their ideas. It would make sense to at least talk to some of your players."
Fri, 28 Jan 2011 20:22:51 -0800 Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau said Friday, Jan. 28, that if he is coaching in 2011, it will be with his current team and not the Arizona Cardinals, reports Mark Kaboly, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. The Cardinals defense finished the 2010 season ranked 29th in total defense and last in points allowed. "I know there will be changes," Whisenhunt said. "I don't know what that is going to encompass, but we're going to make sure that we work to not have another season like this."
Thu, 07 Oct 2010 07:08:55 -0700 Arizona Cardinals RB Beanie Wells said he did speak with head coach Ken Whisenhunt about his role in the team's offense, but Wells also said he did not mean to sound disrespectful by complaining to the media, according to Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic. Wells laughed when asked if his comments got him in trouble. "I did tell him I didn't mean it in a disrespectful way," Wells said. "If you read the headlines, it came off like Beanie is really angry about a certain situation. I'm angry about not being out there contributing. I love being an Arizona Cardinal. Coach understood where I was coming from. No doghouse at all." Whisenhunt replied, "I understand Beanie's frustration. We're all frustrated at the way things have gone for us. It would have been my preference that he would have talked to me about it before ... but those things happen."
