Seattle Seahawks TE Kellen Winslow said he fits into the Seattle offense very well. He feels he and TE Zach Miller will create a lot of mismatches and be difficult for defenses to cover. Head coach Pete Carroll said Winslow should be a big factor on third down and in the red zone.

Seattle Seahawks TE Kellen Winslow said the team is a perfect fit for him after meeting briefly with head coach Pete Carroll. "It's been great," Winslow said. "It's a perfect fit. Coach Carroll is upbeat, he's energetic, so it's going to be perfect. I'm looking forward to working with the whole team, Matt Flynn, Zach Miller, just being a piece of the puzzle."

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano said he wasn't sending a message by trading TE Kellen Winslow to the Seattle Seahawks; he was simply improving the football team. Winslow did not participate in a voluntary workout with the Buccaneers. "There is really not a message. It's not one of those situations," Schiano said. "The only message I want to address is we need to be the best football team we can be. Time is our enemy. We are running out of time. Teams in our division have a head start on us."

The Seattle Seahawks have acquired TE Kellen Winslow from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for an undisclosed 2013 draft choice.

Fantasy Tip: Winslow's stock had fallen in Tampa with the presence of new head coach Greg Schiano. Despite being one of the Bucs' most consistent receiving threats in his time there, he was best utilized as a weak No. 1 tight end or strong No. 2 option. A change in scenery may be what he needs, but it doesn't figure to drastically change his value. Matt Flynn has the talent to be a capable QB, but whether this translates to fantasy success for Winslow remains to be seen. He's a backup TE target for now with upside for more if he gels with Flynn.

Updating an ongoing story, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have instructed TE Kellen Winslow not to show up for organized team activities as the team tries to trade him, according to a league source. The team's reasoning for not wanting Winslow at practice is obvious. If he suffers an injury, the Buccaneers will owe him his full $3.3 million salary for 2012. Winslow is under contract for three more seasons, at base salaries of $3.3 million, $4.5 million, and $5.5 million, respectively. He likely would have to restructure the contract in order to complete a trade.
