Brady is scheduled to count $21.8 million against the cap, Wilfork is scheduled to count $10.6 million against the cap, and Mankins is scheduled to count $10 million against the cap.

"They should feel like they are the team to beat because they are playing some good football," Wilfork said. "They probably are playing the best football that is out there. You can't say anything negative toward what they have going on. They talk the talk and walk the walk."

The New England Patriots, head coach Bill Belichick and assistant coach Matt Patricia changed their 3-4 defense around a bit during the Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos. "I think you can get into a lot of technical aspects of defense and strategy and all that, but we played plenty of four-man line, we played plenty of three-man line," Belichick said. "We used them both at different times for different reasons. In the end, it comes back to the players – beating blocks, making tackles, hitting the quarterback, covering the receivers. I think there's a lot more to that than there is to odd or even." The Pats set the edge with bigger players like DLs Vince Wilfork and Brandon Deaderick.
