The Kansas City Chiefs have looked on the open market for help at nose tackle, and might attempt to re-sign free-agent DL Kelly Gregg (Chiefs), who started in 2011. They have DLs Amon Gordon and Jerrell Powe returning from last season's roster. Gordon started 16 games last season, but the team values him more for his versatility than his ability to handle the nose on an every-down basis.

The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed impending free-agent DL Amon Gordon to a two-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley said Friday, Dec. 2, that DL Amon Gordon has been a pleasant surprise this season. Two weeks ago, he posted his first NFL sack, and then he followed that up with a sack in Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. "You understand that those opportunities are out there. It's just making the most out of that opportunity when it comes to you," Gordon said.
