Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports the Tennessee Titans are considering free agent S Ainsley Battles for depth at the position, but haven't made a final decision on him yet. "If we can't get anything squared away by the end of the day (today) we are going to go ahead and pursue our other option," his agent, Nick Davis said. "It is really a factor of Ainsley wanting to get into a camp early and having a fair shake at making a roster. We understand that business is business and they have priorities, but Ainsley really wants to get into camp on time." Titans general manager Floyd Reese said he doesn't want to keep Battles from getting a job elsewhere, ''but we still want to talk to him.''

Boyd has been forced to share time with newly signed Ainsley Battles during practice as they attempt to take over for S Donovin Darius, who is out with a hip injury. Coughlin has yet to name a starter at strong safety for the September 23 game against Tennessee. Coughlin is reluctant to start two rookies in the secondary now that rookie Marlon McCree has won the job at free safety. Boyd said he expressed his displeasure to Coughlin during a meeting this week.
