The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans RB Stacey Mack (foot) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Nov. 26, after his turf toe showed no improvement. Mack has missed three straight games with the injury, which has bothered him since training camp. This all but ends a difficult one-year stint with the Texans. Mack signed as a free agent during the offseason to be the primary back before losing his job to rookie RB Domanick Davis after five games.

Lately, he has been bothered by a severe turf toe injury that has sidelined him for three consecutive games. Mack should be able to practice this week but his status his still uncertain for this week's game.

Mack, who spelled starting RB Domanick Davis, said he understands the switch in the backfield and admits to going with the hot hand. "Domanick is our hot guy right now," Mack says. "If I was the coach I would keep running him, too."

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans RB Domanick Davis did not waste showing he is worthy of being the featured running back during the Sunday, Oct. 19, game against the New York Jets. Davis, who replaced RB Stacey Mack in the starting lineup, rushed for 129 yards, becoming the first back in the Texans' 22-game history to have a 100-yard game. He also had nine receptions for 70 yards, giving him a team-record 199 total yards. The 169 rushing yards for the Texans broke the team record, previously 141 against the Buffalo Bills last season.

Joseph Duarte, of the Houston Chronicle, reports the Houston Texans have apparently lost patience in RB Stacey Mack for the time being. Mack leads the team with 211 yards but is averaging only 2.9 yards per carry. He has been slowed by turf toe injuries to both feet, although he said his condition has improved recently.

Joseph Duarte, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans head coach Dom Capers said not to read too much into the fact that No. 1 RB Stacey Mack had only four rushing attempts in the Sunday, Oct. 12, game against the Tennessee Titans. The Texans went with a three-wide receiver set instead of two backs for most of the game against Tennessee. In that situation, RB Domanick Davis is the primary running back used.

USAToday.com reports Jacksonville Jaguars DT Marcus Stroud, DT John Henderson, CB Kiwaukee Thomas and Houston Texans RB Stacey Mack have been subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury investigating the alleged drug dealings of city businessman Don Brown, who owns a Jacksonville auto accessories shop called Don Brown Jr.'s Downtown Sounds. Brown is being accused of using the business as a front for sales of cocaine and marijuana since 1997.
