Dolphins | Consider position switch for Koa Misi

The Miami Dolphins have not yet settled on their defensive scheme for 2012. The new coaching regime do not plan on using LB Koa Misi at defensive end, and their tentative plans might be to move him to inside linebacker. In 20 of the 28 games he has started, Misi has served as strong-side linebacker. Misi played defensive end in college at Utah. If Misi is moved inside, he would compete with LBs Karlos Dansby and Kevin Burnett for playing time.

Miami Dolphins LB Kevin Burnett said he has not played well so far this season and needs to improve his play in order to help the team succeed. "I haven't done enough to help my team," Burnett said. "A season is made of 1,000 plays, and I've got 830 more to go. But it has to happen now. At some point, you have to show flashes of it. I don't want to live on potential and not production."

Chargers | Kevin Burnett wants to return, but may be too pricey

After some big signings, the San Diego Chargers may not be able to afford re-signing LB Kevin Burnett, one of their own unrestricted free agents. Some sources have said Burnett is looking for more than $5 million per year, but his agent, Ricky Lefft, said they have not exchanged numbers with the Chargers. Burnett is interested in returning to San Diego, and Lefft believes the two sides will still talk.

San Diego Chargers LB Kevin Burnett blasted commissioner Roger Goodell in an interview with a San Diego radio station, calling him a liar, reports Bill Willamson, of ESPN.com. "Goodell's full of it. He's a liar," Burnett said. "You're a blatant liar. 'It's our league, it's we, we love the players, we want the league,' but what have you done for the players? What have you done, in all honesty, to improve the game, besides fine guys, besides take money away from guys, besides change a game that you've never played? … He's done nothing to improve the game."
