Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he would like to see quarterbacks coach Tom Clements get the team's vacant offensive coordinator position. "I'm feeling a little selfish when it comes to Tom," Rodgers said. "I have a real good relationship with him. It's been a real good six years together. I want to keep it going. I think Tom deserves to take a jump though. I think it would be a seamless transition to have him as the offensive coordinator in Green Bay as [Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin] has moved on now."

"The first day we met, I said 'here's a list of about 10 things," Clements said. "Some more important than others, some just very technical things, and then we continued to work on those as the offseason progressed." Perhaps most important was footwork. Head coach Mike McCarthy believes footwork is critical in the West Coast passing game because so much of the system is predicated on timing.

Leo Roth, of the Democrat and Chronicle, reports the Buffalo Bills will hold a news conference at 1 PM ET Wednesday, Jan. 4, to address a reshuffling of their front office, owner Ralph Wilson said late Tuesday, Jan. 3. It's expected that the club will announce the firing of president and general manager Tom Donahoe. Speculation has centered on assistant general manager Tom Modrak being promoted to take over Donahoe's football duties and Russ Brandon, the club's vice president of business development and marketing, assuming more business control. Former Bills' head coach Marv Levy also be brought back in some role. It's believed offensive coordinator Tom Clements will be fired and possibly defensive coordinator Jerry Gray. Modrak confirmed that he would be involved in the front office shakeup but he would not comment on any pending promotion.

"Ideally what we'd like to do here is have a balanced attack, but we're going to come out with the idea that we're going to run the ball and they have to stop the run," offensive coordinator Tom Clements said. The learning curve to adjust to the new scheme is favorable, according to Bledsoe. "The terminology of the new system is very similar, so our learning curve is going to be pretty quick," Bledsoe said.
