Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams head coach Scott Linehan confirmed the team has hired Willy Robinson as their new secondary coach.

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams defensive coordinator Jim Haslett plans to bring former NFL assistant coach Willy Robinson aboard the coaching staff. Robinson worked under Haslett last year with the New Orleans Saints.

Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints defensive assistant Willy Robinson will become the team's secondary coach. Robinson replaces former secondary coach Joe Baker, who joined the Green Bay Packers' coaching staff.

SF49ers.com reports San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Willy Robinson has pondered the idea of implementing the 3-4 defense in 2004 along with the team's traditional 4-3 formation. "It's not anything that's new to this organization. It's been used before," Robinson said. "But it is something we are toying with to use this season."

Teresa Varley, of Steelers.com, reports Pittsburgh Steelers defensive backs coach Willy Robinson has resigned from the Steelers and joined the San Francisco 49ers as their defensive coordinator. "Willy's contributions in his four years here have been invaluable," Steelers head coach Bill Cowher said. "Not only is Willy an excellent football coach, he is a quality person who not doubt will be missed. I could not wish him more success in his new position."

Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports the San Francisco 49ers have hired Willy Robinson as their defensive coordinator. He was on head coach Dennis Erickson's staffs at the University of Miami, Seattle Seahawks and Oregon State. Robinson has spent the last four seasons as the DBs coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
