Currently, Darling has started opposite WR Dwayne Bowe, with Franklin as the slot receiver when the team goes to a three-receiver formation. "We might use a rotation," receivers coach Eric Price said. "Then, if one guy separates himself, he'll play more."

Jeffrey Flanagan, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Jeff Webb feels he has a chance to earn one of the team's starting wide receiver spots behind WR Dwayne Bowe. "If you go in thinking that you don't have a chance to start, then you probably don't have a chance," Webb said. "You have to believe in yourself, work hard and then take advantage of your opportunity. We only have one guaranteed starter, and that's (Dwayne) Bowe. After that, it's all about who performs the best." Webb figures to compete with WR Devard Darling for the remaining starting spot.
