Hall of Fame DE Carl Eller and lawyers for retired NFL players are meeting Tuesday, July 19, with representatives of owners and current players at a New York law firm for talks aimed at ending the lockout. The court-appointed mediator, U.S. Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan, is also at the session.

The Associated Press reports former Minnesota Vikings DL Carl Eller refused to cooperate with Minneapolis police officers last April because he knew he was drunk and he wanted to delay or prevent an alcohol test, according to judge Dan Mabley's seven-page ruling. Mabley's ruling also said police did not use excessive force when arresting Eller. Eller will be sentenced Feb. 23, and his attorney, Albert Goins, has indicated he may appeal.

The Associated Press reports former Minnesota Vikings DL Carl Eller was convicted Monday, Jan. 26, of assault on a police officer and refusing to take a sobriety test. Eller was convicted of the two gross misdemeanors that arose from a clash with Minneapolis police officers in April. Sentencing is scheduled Feb. 23.

Tim Harlow, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, reports former NFL DL Carl Eller was stopped by police Wednesday, May 14, for driving with unlawful license plates, according to a Minneapolis Police report. Eller's plates should have had a special code on them because of his past alcohol-related offenses. His motorcycle was impounded and Eller was cited and released.

The Associated Press reports former NFL DL Carl Eller was arrested Wednesday, April 9, after refusing to give a breath test for drunken driving. Eller was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, fleeing police and assaulting a police officer. The report says he punched at least one officer. Eller was a member of the Minnesota Vikings and is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Associated Press reports former NFL DL Carl Eller pleaded guilty to drunken driving as part of a plea deal that calls for a $1,000 fine, probation and community service, a prosecutor said. Eller pleaded guilty Monday, March 20, to fourth-degree drunken driving, a misdemeanor, in a branch office of the Hennepin County District Court in Minnesota. Eller's attorney, Dennis Johnson, told the Star Tribune of Minneapolis that Eller accepted responsibility. "He was wrong, and he wanted to move on," Johnson said. "He felt horrible about this."

Eller is expected to make a plea at his court appearance scheduled for March 22. He is being charges with third-degree driving while intoxicated for refusing testing, fourth-degree DWI, and reckless driving.

The Associated Press reports former Minnesota Vikings DL Carl Eller was arrested in Golden Valley on a charge of driving under the influence early Sunday morning, Feb. 26. Lieutenant Chuck Walerius with the State Patrol said a trooper stopped Eller after clocking him going 97 miles an hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone on Interstate 394 around 3:30 a.m. Eller's bail was set at $500.
