Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan has announced the team has signed free agent P/PK Hayden Epstein to a contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The team immediately allocated Epstein to NFL Europe for next season.

Bill Williamson, of the Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings have been monitoring the progress of injured kicker Hayden Epstein (knee) and have an interest in re-signing him. The Vikings reached an injury settlement with the kicker in August. Epstein is eligible to re-sign with the team in November.

Jaguars.com reports Jacksonville Jaguars coach Tom Coughlin said PK Hayden Epstein's lack of range outside 40 yards impacted the decisions not to attempt 48 and 42-yard FGs during Sunday's game. It seems Epstein may be on the verge of being released by the team. "We're looking at who's available," Coughlin said of kickers who would be candidates to replace Epstein. "It would be time for us to do some work in that area."

"I've narrowed down the competition, but that does not exclude [signing another kicker] if this doesn't prove to be exactly what we want it to be,'' coach Tom Coughlin said. Vito Stellino reports for the Florida Times-Union the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to a three-year, $930,500 contract with seventh-round draft pick, PK Hayden Epstein. He will receive a signing bonus of $25,500 and base salaries of $225,000, $300,000 and $380,000. The deal is basically a split contract meaning if he goes on the injured reserve list this fall or next, he won't get the full salary.
