Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost doesn't want any catcher working more than two days in a row. C Humberto Quintero made the start Saturday, April 7, and he will also catch SPs Jonathan Sanchez and Danny Duffy. C Brayan Pena will receive against SPs Bruce Chen and Luis Mendoza. "I don't want anybody catching more than two days in a row," Yost said. "I'm trying to keep a balance. I like Quintero with (SP Luke Hochevar), Sanchez and Duffy because he's more of a veteran presence with those guys."

Kansas City Royals C Brayan Pena agreed to a one-year, $875,000 deal to avoid arbitration Monday, Jan. 16. He earned $660,000 last season. Pena is expected to back up C Salvador Perez this year.
