Tue, 24 Jan 2012 12:38:00 -0800 Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland said the team is considering transitioning to a 4-3 defense next season, and the team currently has the personnel to make such a change successful. Cincinnati Bengals defensive backs coach Kevin Coyle is a leading candidate to become the team's next defensive coordinator. Cincinnati used a 4-3 defense this year. Coyle will interview for the job next week. LB Cameron Wake would play defensive end if the team switched to a 4-3 defensive alignment, with DL Randy Starks likely moving to tackle.

Sun, 13 Feb 2011 13:53:24 -0800 The Miami Dolphins may move DL Randy Starks to nose tackle next season if they are not able to re-sign impending free-agent DL Paul Soliai this offseason, reports Omar Kelly, of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

"Anyone who's got the notion he's gonna get in there and get bounced around – that's not gonna happen. He's very strong. He's pretty familiar with the position; he's played inside before. So we'll see," Langford said.
Mon, 31 May 2010 10:17:26 -0700 Miami Dolphins DT Jason Ferguson worked with DL Randy Starks during the team's minicamp on how Starks can use his body better so he can maximize his leverage at nose tackle, reports Omar Kelly, of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

"I've been impressed with what he's done with no pads on. I've already seen what he's done with pads on, so I don't really worry about that. He's gotten so much better in the short time we've been out here at feeling those things, it's starting to become old hat to him," Sparano said.
