The Carolina Panthers have not given any updates on the severity of the injury to OL Travelle Wharton (knee). If Wharton is unable to play in Week 2, it is likely the team will move OL Jordan Gross to left tackle and OL Todd Fordham would start at right tackle.

Darin Gantt, of the Rock Hill Herald, reports free agent OT Todd Fordham (Panthers) is still a possibility to return to the Carolina Panthers for the 2006 season, according to his agent. The Panthers value Fordham highly due to his ability to play all five positions along the offensive line, and there is probably room for another offensive lineman to be signed to the roster.
